Update: Travian

Server 5:
There is no DS on this server anymore. Things weren’t going the way we wanted them to.At first, we were too small and too insignificant on the server, but we thought this was solved when we could welcome a lot of members from an alliance, that was falling apart and no longer exists nowadays. These members appeared to be a big group of friends, so as soon as the first member left the alliance, soon the others followed. This was also why we were able to get so many new members at once; they were all following each other. Because, when the first member joined DS, the rest soon did as well.

But, after a short period of quiet, things were getting out of control. Jaguar suddenly became aggressive again, and with success this time. They started to attack us and they broke down our villages with catapults etc. We were trying to stop them, but they were quite powerful. But we probably could have made it through the attacks, if the new members didn’t appear to have had contacts with Jaguar about us and about joining Jaguar instead of us. So in one day, a seemingly very normal day, just one of many, we lost a whole lot of members and some villages too. The members we lost weren’t only the new members, but also some older members, who no longer saw the fun in playing Travian when all their villages were in ruïns and therefore deleted their accounts.

After a short period of discussing the matter, we agreed to all do the same and to give it another try at a next server. So we all deleted our accounts and are now waiting for a new server to join. And even though we didn’t win from Jaguar, we tried our best; we have fought a long fight, and I feel like we have done a good job.

Former members of DS at server 5; thank you all for your efforts. I had a great time playing this server with all of you. May the horned moon guide each and every one of you.

Server 4:
A goodbye for the members of DS on server 4 is needed too. The endgame ended and hereby I’ll tell you what happened in the last couple of weeks.

Let’s start with the beginning of the endgame. We were going to assist 3 world wonder builders, all from T.I.; Jack Razor with his WW Jewel of Judgment, Braveheart and LITE. Our alliance was split into three groups; each group had their own WW builder to assist. This was going pretty well, until one of the three world wonders was shot back to level zero. We had been losing some levels already along the way, but we kept fighting hard until now. Jack Razor’s Jewel of Judgment was no longer and the group of people that supported him would assist one of the other world wonders. We didn’t lose hope, for we still had two WWs left, so we still had a good chance of winning the endgame. But after a while LITE’s WW was gone too, and soon after Braveheart's WW followed.

At that moment we got a bit desperate, but the leaders discussed the matter and decided to go and assist the world wonder of the alliance Smurfen, since they were also in our area and because we had the same enemy; the alliance ‘Gezellig’. So everyone was asked to send their troops to Assepoes; Smurfen's WW builder. Everything went well for a while, apart from a couple of attacks we could easily withstand, but then a disaster happened; a couple of large attacks destroyed our WW; our only chance of winning the endgame!

After a short period of panic, we brainstormed about the question ‘What to do now?’.
We decided not to give up and to try to rebuild our WW and to try to win the endgame, or at least finishing it with a high level WW.

We tried our best, but we ended the endgame with a WW of level zero. Avalon won the endgame with their world wonder Olympus, with Loke as world wonder builder. This is, of course, disappointing, but we tried our best, and that’s all we can do.

Server 4 has been a pretty quiet server, especially if you compare it to server 5, and I enjoyed playing on it and being part of DS there. To all the former members of DS of server 4, I would like to thank you for your dedication, and I hope to have the pleasure of playing with you guys on another server.
