DS Event: Castlefest
Ad Sanctum,In the DS Times of last month, there was an article concerning the trip to the Castlefest event. One of the people inside the clan that has been there, was Rayendir Sidhe. We have been asking him some question about this event, and how he thinks the event has been arranged, and what could be done better in DS, concerning real life events.
Q: How did you like the event?
I liked it a lot, the weather was good and the shows were set up pretty well.Q: How many people from DS were present at the party?
I have no idea.... A few I read on the DS forum later, but I didn't see any. That is, no one who is currently in DS.Q: What is your opinion about the event arranged by DS itself?
DS is good at writing down creative plans on a forum, but pretty bad at making it all happen in reality. This time as well. There were some people from DS individually, but not 'under the DS banner'.Q: How do you think that events like Castlefest could be good for DS? Are they a worthy addition for DS as clan?
It definitely is a worthy addition for DS to visit Castlefest, for many reasons, but like always: just writing it down on a forum doesn't work. Someone needs to take charge.Q: If this event was arranged again next year, would you go again?
I've been visiting Castlefest for quite a few years now and I will probably be there next year as well. Hopefully enjoying the event even more because of a well planned DS project on visiting Castlefest.Q: What were the most funny and/or interesting things you have seen?
Well, there are all kinds of different things that qualify as an answer to this question. Sword fighting club (although they'd probably kill me for summarizing their activities like this) "De Orde der Noorderwind" is the most interesting participant at Castlefest for me personally, because outside DS I work together with them frequently.Q: What was the most wonderful thing that you have seen?
Old DS members who still recognize me. Not sure whether that is a good thing...Q: Are there any other things you would like to add to this interview?
Someone, take charge next year and organize the event passed the "It would be nice if we could meet at Castlefest"-stage! There's nothing to be afraid of.
