Interview: Karthos
Ad Sanctum,
As some of you have seen already, Karthos has started to set up a new group inside DS. This group will be for players that play games with eachother using consoles. Eversor interviewed him to see how it is going with this, and to see what his ideas are with this group, this could grow out to be a division on later time.
Q:So Karthos, to start of, How long have you been in DS now?
A: Just over a year, I joined DS in october 2007.
Q:How did you come in contact with DS?
A: My friend that lives across the road from me joined the World of Warcraft division and I decided to follow.
Q:By what name is he known in DS? Is he still a member?
A: Helcas is his name, he isn't in DS anymore.
Q:I see. Lately you started the idea to make a console Division inside DS. When did you come accross the Idea of this console division?
A: I had been thinking about it for a while, and so had Dopehat, but it was when Malekith posted the topic asking questions about what consoles members owned and whether they would be interested in having tournaments etc that I started to seriously consider it.
Q:Did you start with the idea of going for all consoles? or did you have only one in mind at the beginning?
A: I myself can only concentrate on organising things for the Wii because I don't own a Xbox360 or PS3. But I was going to find people to do things on the other consoles. So I had all of them in mind.
Q:So how is it running now? Its still a group, not yet a division, but are there already games played with eachother, and which are those?
A: It seems to be running ok, the main game the members seem to be interested in is Guitar Hero. The match I planned with you was the only time so far that I've attempted to play with another member over Wi-Fi, but as you know, that didn't really work out, because of my wifi problems with Guitar Hero 3. So I'm trying to think of ways to get around that fact, for example the posting of peoples highest scores etc on the forums.
Q:Are there more games you are looking forward to playing online with DS members?
A: I would love to host a Super Smash Bros Brawl or Mario Kart Wii tournament but unfortunately I don't think many, if any, of the other members own the games.
Q:Will there be a tournament soon in DS you think? and what game will that be then?
A: If we can get the Wi-Fi problems sorted, it would most likely be a Guitar Hero 3 tournament. But it's the only game that I can't seem to play online, most likely something my end so I will try and get it sorted. Apart from Guitar Hero, like I said earlier, a Smash Bros or Mario Kart tournament would be great fun.
Q:Is there anyting you would like to add?
A: Umm, If anyone wants to organise things for the Ps3 or 360, go for it, because the group seems to be dominated by things to do with the Wii at the moment.
