Preview: Spore Hero (Nintendo Wii)
“Spore Hero” is a very fun looking spin off of the popular and highly hyped game on the PC. Although, in this game you don't create your own species and watch them advance through the ages etc like on the PC version. In fact, its very different. It's an adventure game. Two meteors land on the planet, but they turn out to be eggs. One of which is blue, the other red. The red one starts covering the planet in red nastiness. The blue one is you, it hatches and you get to create your creature. There is a massive choice of parts and infinite possibilities of where to put them. The clever thing is, depending on what features your creature has, the missions are different. If you make a big beasty with massive fangs and claws, then your missions will be much more combat orientated. Or you could take a more agile or social approach by making a smaller, friendlier critter. You then use your creature to carry out the missions, and get rid of all the red stuff that is emanating from the red egg. I am really looking forward to this game, I had so much fun with the demo creature creator for the PC version, but never actually had the game. Unfortunately, we will be waiting a while for this little wonder, its estimated time of release is November 2009. No Doubt it will be worth the wait.
Preview: The Conduit (Nintendo Wii)
I have been interested in this game for a long time, and thankfully its time of release is just a month and a bit away (26th June). It is set in Washington DC, you play an agent that recently saved the presidents life and then something happens. There is an alien attack and everyone wants to know what's going on. Seeing as you saved his life and he trusts you, the president sets you on the case. Its a first person shooter and is said to be a bit like “Halo”. Its the same in the way that not only do you have your human guns, but also an arsenal of alien weapons can be picked up along the way. Simply put, this game looks awesome, the graphics look AMAZING, they have tried their best to get the graphics up to a standard as close to X-Box 360 as they can. And they did very well, they are the nicest graphics that I have seen on the Wii. One of the main attractions of this game, for me, is the online multiplayer. There are several modes, from Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch, to Capture The Flag, and hopefully a few more creative modes. It is also the second game to use Wii-Speak, so now teamwork will be much easier. And also you can hurl abuse at the camper who keeps killing you and just generally annoying people. Hehe. It looks insanely fun and I'm sure It will be a big hit. If you pre-order it then you get a cool looking special edition box, and it also has a 20 page hints and tips guide with some codes on the back for 3 extra items, so get pre-ordering now!
Thanks for reading my previews and I hope they have got you interested in these games.
