AS to all members of Daoine Sidhe,

On the 17th of December we celebrate the Mystery of Tradition, the history of which can be read in our library;

The Mystery of Maturation.
The day this Mystery was celebrated is the 17th of December, when all promotions for Daoine Sidhe members were discussed with the clan. This day, also called Kadgar's Wisdom, (The first Merlin) is the day on which for three years new appointed leaders of the Kingdom of The White Marten, officially chosen the day before, were installed. But with the death of the alliance of The White Marten this ritual was abandoned.

And also this year we shall use this Mystery to reward members of Daoine Sidhe with the Runes that they deserved, a few weeks after the 17th of December though; I needed some time to decide on who recieves which Rune(s), apart from which the usual RL excuses play a role in this delay.

Based on what exactly did people receive their new Runes?
As you know Runes represent specific behaviours and attitudes, that are appreciated in the members of Daoine Sidhe. Runes are not given for individual matters that are rewarded with either Quest Points, or other rewards depending on the division of DS that you joined.

I took the following matters in mind:

- People should be rewarded in a way that is fair, even though objective facts are not always present. Therefore one should not look at the Runes as a way of saying that one DS member is better or more important than another: they are not meant to compare.

- People should be motivated to achieve more in Daoine Sidhe, for themselves and fellow members. This means Runes are given partly on a motivational basis.

- People should not be receiving Runes too easily, in order to avoid that everyone with a good story gains some Rune later on. They cover more than random achievements, they cover special behaviour that exceeds the common things one could expect of a member.

Some explanation
- Runes are based on the memberlist till dec. 2008 including Runes mentioned there,
- Runes newly added to the list are italic,
- Runes are based on successful efforts; not just efforts,
- Runes are sometimes also based on previous Runes (long lasting achievements),
- Sidhe receive a title for their Apprenticeship, no additional Runes,
- Similarly, King, Merlin, and such do not receive Runes for doing common work,
- Additional suggestions can be posted in response to this list.

Concerning the membership dates
I checked the dates, with help of response in this thread, as accurately as possible. In case mistakes have been made please inform me and add some 'proof' of your original sign up date; this in order to avoid pointless discussions.
The timespan for Runes for 1 year membership has been stretched out to include also januari and february 2008. Members that joined later will not receive the Rune of Strength this year; we have to draw a line somewhere.

Concluding: every year several of the old members leave us, and it is a shame always to update this list and see the loss of experience in the form of Runes that disappear along with once greatly respected names.
Nonetheless this year's Runes go to new members for the largest part, and that it a good sign. It tells us that a new generation of DS members is on the rise, who are once more proudly keeping our community alive and add their skills to our DS divisions, groups, and teams. It may very well be that some of the divisions' members deserve Runes that I didn't mention.
I would like you to hand in a list with members and the Runes they deserve in your opinion. Please also explain why.

MSKnorkator: Either she has been member a year, which would mean Rex, Bauhaus, Stensi, Patis, Killgoat and Blackleash are also members for over a year. I personally suspect though they all became members in january/february 2008. SAme goes for Ginni (Maybe totally coincidence, but how come both female farts are the only onces getting the Rune? )

Rune of Devotion: for recruiting many members to DS, mostly wow players.
Rune of Life: For bringing in many good ideas for both DS and the WOW division.
Rune of Loyalty: Being a loyal member of DS, aswell doing great work for WOW division.
Rune of Strength: being in DS for 1 year

Lol i think i also deserve a rune of devotion sins the EvE division brought in a lot of new members just joking sins i didn't keep track which members are brought on by me or by other members already in the corps.

But on a more serious reqeust i was hoping for a Rune of Loyalty for twizted (forum name: 7w1273d). His efforts to help for the corporation industry part was very succesfully and should be rewarded.
